UAE reports clear skies as no missile or drone activity detected from Iran
Hundreds of projectiles intercepted since onset of attacks
ABU DHABI – The Ministry of Defence confirmed on Thursday that the UAE’s airspace remained free of any aerial threats in recent hours, with no detection of ballistic missiles, cruise missiles, or unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) launched from Iran.
The announcement comes as authorities continue close monitoring of the situation amid ongoing regional tensions. Officials stated that air defence systems are operating at full readiness to ensure the country’s security and stability.
Since the onset of what the ministry described as blatant Iranian attacks, UAE air defence systems have intercepted a total of 537 ballistic missiles, 26 cruise missiles, and 2,256 UAVs. The figures highlight the scale and intensity of the aerial threats faced over the period, as well as the operational capacity of the country’s defence infrastructure.

The Ministry of Defence announced that on 9th April 2026, UAE air defence systems did not detect any ballistic missiles, cruise missiles, or UAVs launched from Iran.

The ministry emphasised that no injuries were recorded in the past hours, keeping the cumulative number of injuries at 224. Those affected include individuals from a wide range of nationalities, reflecting the UAE’s diverse population. Among them are Emirati, Egyptian, Sudanese, Ethiopian, Filipino, Pakistani, Iranian, Indian, Bangladeshi, Sri Lankan, Azerbaijani, Yemeni, Ugandan, Eritrean, Lebanese, Afghan, Bahraini, Comorian, Turkish, Iraqi, Nepalese, Nigerian, Omani, Jordanian, Palestinian, Ghanaian, Indonesian, Swedish, Tunisian, Moroccan and Russian nationals.
Since the beginning of the attacks, the total number of martyrs has reached two, in addition to a Moroccan civilian contracted with the Armed Forces. The overall civilian death toll stands at 10, involving individuals from Pakistani, Nepalese, Bangladeshi, Palestinian, Indian and Egyptian nationalities.
Authorities continue to monitor developments closely, maintaining heightened vigilance while reaffirming the effectiveness of the country’s defence systems in safeguarding its airspace.
